Consumer Electronics industry magazine Twice has confirmed that has become the second-largest retailer of consumer electronics in the world, trailing Best Buy.

Twice's annual Top 100 Consumer Electronics Retailers report marks Best Buy as the #1 retailer of Consumer Electronics, now followed by Amazon and Walmart coming in third.

This is a significant development, which Twice attributes to Amazon's own proprietary products (the Fire tablet, Kindle, Alexa Echo, etc), the ingenious Prime membership program, and "its hard-to-beat prices and fastidious customer service".

All these factors represent significant investment and foresight on Amazon's part, over a long period of time. Compared with competitors who have made few steps toward true innovation in the online retail space, it's a prize that Amazon deserves to win.
